Getting Started with Pack 152
Cub Scouting is designed to be welcoming for new families. You do not need previous Scouting experience, camping expertise, or a uniform to visit a meeting.
How to Join
- Contact us at pack152berlin@gmail.com so we can answer questions and confirm the next good meeting to visit.
- Visit a den meeting or pack activity to meet leaders, Scouts, and other families.
- Complete registration after your family decides Pack 152 is a good fit.
- Submit required forms, including health and safety information requested by the pack and council.
- Get connected to pack communications, calendar updates, Scoutbook, and volunteer opportunities.
What to Expect at a First Visit
- New families are welcome.
- No uniform is needed for a first visit.
- A parent or guardian should attend with the Scout.
- Leaders will explain the activity and help your family find the right den.
- Siblings are often part of the pack community, depending on the activity.
Meeting Information
- Den Meetings: Small group meetings focused on age-appropriate activities and advancement.
- When: Select Tuesdays starting at 4:30pm during the school year
- Where: John F. Kennedy School Large Aula, Zehlendorf, Berlin
- Pack Events: Larger group activities including campouts, service projects, and special events.
- When: Monthly during the school year on a weekend day
- Where: Activity-dependent, usually outdoors, at a museum, or another learning site
- Campouts: Multi-day events for the whole family.
- When: Two or three times per year, as listed on the Calendar
- Where: Campsites around Berlin or district-wide Scouting events in Germany
Costs, Uniforms, and Assistance
We try to make Scouting approachable for every family. Pack dues, council registration, uniforms, and some activities may have costs. Assistance may be available through the pack and council to help families cover Scouting expenses.
Families do not need to buy everything at once. We can help explain what is needed now, what can wait, and whether experienced uniforms or shared gear are available.
Family Participation
Cub Scouting is a family program. Parents and guardians attend activities, support their Scouts, and help make pack events successful. Every family can contribute in ways that fit their interests, skills, and availability.
